I have thoroughly enjoyed this experience. So, now that I have all this free time on my hands, who’s next?

All good things must come to an end, and that includes my Lowcountry Local First blog challenge. I have to admit I was a little daunted by the proposition at first, but it has been a wonderful opportunity to re-discover some great local stores I hadn’t been to in awhile as well as uncover a few new favorites. I have tons of unique gift ideas for the holidays now (Wonder Works, Charleston Naturally) and even more to keep in mind for the next birthday that comes along. I got so into this “Buy Local” campaign that all my girlfriends are getting goodie bags stuffed with gifts from Lowcountry stores. I’d tell you which ones…but I’m pretty sure they’re reading!

And let’s not even talk about the food options—I am thinking about throwing a party just so I have an excuse to have Caviar & Bananas cater it and 3.14 Pies supply dessert! My husband gets much more excited by the idea of dinner at Cypress, Old Village Post House or Taco Boy than by my questionable cooking skills. Have I mentioned that I am also considering redecorating after my recent visit to Celadon and The Bar Stool Shop? Hah! All kidding aside, I consider it a privilege to be part of such a strong community of local businesses. The support we offer each other, and more importantly, the support the community offers us, is truly amazing.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this experience and wanted to give a big shout out to Pam Hartley of Momentum Marketing for the challenge. So, now that I have all this free time on my hands, who’s next?

Early last month, Pam Hartley of Momentum Marketing and a card-carrying member of Lowcountry Local First, contacted me about a challenge she had for the YuDu team. Let me pause here to say that I love a good challenge and for those of you who know me personally, you know if you want me to do something…just make it hard and tell me it will be difficult, and I’ll set out to crush it. Pam took a similar tactic. The conversation went something like this:

Pam: Sarah, I know you shop for clients in the Charleston area and as the holidays approach, I know your shopping will increase. I challenge you to shop primarily (if not entirely) at locally owned businesses for 30 days for you and your clients.

Me: Done, and?

Pam: And to make it extra fun…BLOG about it. Sarah, you haven’t blogged since July.

Me: gulp. There’s the extra hard part.

Hmmm…Yes, my blogging days are not as frequent as all my social media experts insist they be. But we are shopping daily for clients and ourselves. In fact, Pam used us last year as her Santa shoppers (click here for her video), buying up all the great toys her son had on his Christmas list. And we do enjoy supporting area businesses whenever possible (givers gain philosophy, people!). And I’m up to the challenge to write daily…(coffee please!). So heck yeah, I’m on board!

YuDu Concierge is locally owned and operated and 100% original to Charleston. I absolutely love the entrepreneurial spirit here, and it is attractive to some of the most creative, stylish, delicious, and capable businesses. We are proud to be a part of it all.

Be on the lookout for daily blogs on local places to get what you need. And if you don’t have time to stop by, you know where to find us.

I have been working with YuDu since the company opened, and I can’t say enough about the excellent service that YuDu provides. Sarah and the YuDu team are amazing, and I don’t know what I’d do without their help. As a busy professional, I was struggling to juggle it all until I began utilizing YuDu’s services. Now YuDu runs my personal errands like grocery shopping, selecting wine, buying toiletries, dropping off and picking up dry cleaning, alterations, shoe repairs and more. YuDu also helps my business run smoothly by making copies, picking up office supplies, setting up for events, and much more! Because of YuDu, I now have more time to spend with my friends and family and more time for growing my business, and this is invaluable. All the members of the YuDu team are such a pleasure to work with and are always professional, prompt, and efficient, often providing same-day service. I’ve referred many friends and clients to YuDu and they too have all been pleased!
